Appointment Pool
Broome Senior High School (BSHS) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and enthusiastic Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) teachers, with preference given to those with Geography qualifications, for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
Broome SHS, winner of the WA School of the Year for 2012, is now one of the premier high schools in the state. A leading Independent Public School in its own right, the school is also proudly part of the Broome Cluster of Independent Public Schools working in close collaboration with the town’s four primaries, Broome, Cable Beach, Broome North and Roebuck Primary Schools. Applicants are strongly recommended to have the following qualifications: experience and skills, teaching year 11 and 12 ATAR Geography, and experience and/or capacity to teach year 7-10 HASS. They will also have the knowledge and willingness to work collaboratively in a strong team environment to develop WA Curriculum programs and teaching resources for lower school and senior school. Experience teaching students with varying literacy levels, Aboriginal students and those with Special Need would be considered desirable but not essential for the position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
