Appointment Pool

South Bunbury Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of K-6 Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2019 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2020. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2019 school year, up to the end of Term 3, 2020.
South Bunbury Primary School is an Independent Public School which shares its site with the South Bunbury Education Support Centre (SBESC). We have formed a positive, collaborative partnership with the SBESC and have developed a shared ethos promoting an empathetic inclusive school community.
Suitable applicants will possess excellent interpersonal skills, and will be able to demonstrate highly proficient, evidence based teaching and learning capabilities. You will demonstrate strong behaviour management skills based around coaching children expected behaviours using the School’s virtues program. You will have the demonstrated skills to form positive relationships that engage and motivate students to achieve their academic, social and emotional goals, working collaboratively with your colleagues to achieve this.
As a teacher at our school, you will have a commitment to implementing whole school programmes developed around the implementation of the Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting of the Western Australian Curriculum. You will be able to plan, teach and assess in a collaborative environment with excellent skills in differentiating the curriculum to meet student needs. The school has developed strong curriculum teams in Mathematics, English, Technologies and Pastoral Care.
It would be highly desirable to have experience in implementing the Mathematics Leadership program with Dr Paul Swan, using quality Literature to engage students, implementing Kids Matter (now the “Be You” Framework) and the integration of ICT and digital technologies into classroom practice.
Successful applicants will have a proven commitment to their ongoing professional development, through the positive implementation of their Professional Development Plan to ensure adherence to school priorities, whole school programmes and emerging student requirements.
Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
