Hollywood Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of enthusiastic and highly skilled Kindergarten to Year 6 Educators for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full time and part time vacancies which may arise during 2019 and the 2020 school year. Placements can be made from the pool at any time for commencements until the end of Term 4, 2020.
This pool will also be used to appoint teachers in specialist roles for Science (STEAM), The Arts (Music) and Digital Literacy. Only applicants in the pool possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances, we ask that applicants identify if they are applying for one of these specialist roles.
We are seeking educators who are innovative, have high expectations and truly believe that all children can learn and be successful. have high level interpersonal skills. They will be extremely collaborative and work to improve the outcomes of all children in a team environment. They will actively engage in self-refection to improve their practice and engage in observation and feedback practices to develop their understanding of our whole school programs and pedagogy. You will also be committed to putting students first in your decision-making and undertake the hard work that is inherent in adhering to a whole school approaches to delivering motivating and quality educational programs, believing that exemplary, evidence-based teaching practices lead to successful students and high standards of achievement.
Hollywood PS educators are future focused and use high impact teaching strategies to progress students learning. Knowledge of how to analyse data for improvement and apply targeted teaching processes will be sought from the applicant. You will be confident in the application of technologies and its integration across the curriculum to enhance student outcomes. The learning environment you create should be engaging, challenging, caring and cater for a range of needs which promote student achievement. You will utilise effective behaviour management strategies to establish and maintain an organised, orderly and learning-focused classroom. Suitable applicants will be motivated, reflective teachers who seek out new opportunities and are focused on their own professional growth.
Suitable applicants will possess the skills required to continue and maintain the existing programs that are well-embedded in the school through;

- Talk for Writing experience
- Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract/BAR approach to Numeracy
- Walker Learning
- Technology as a learning tool (Office 365, Google Classroom, Windows and Apple devices)
Educators who have experience with these programs and initiatives are ideal applicants. Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that requires specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education, LOTE and Music). Only applicants in the pool possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
