The Finance and Commercial Services Division is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and committed Senior Finance Consultant - Communications in the Financial Services branch.
The webSIS Finance Project Team is part of the Financial Services Directorate and works closely with the ICT webSIS Project Team. The webSIS Finance Project Team is responsible for providing an integrated finance solution for schools comprising of the Finance and the General Ledger, Asset and Resource Management, Purchasing and Payables and Billing and Debtor Management modules and an opportunity for improvement in accounting and business processes to enhance financial management and decision making for school users.
The Senior Finance Consultant (Communications) position will have a training and implementation focus. The position will be responsible for identifying, designing and developing planning and readiness content for the new school chart of accounts and the new webSIS solution. Applicants will need to possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to facilitate and present information sessions and workshops.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our branch for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:

Well developed skills and considerable experience in the provision of financial advice to a broad range of stakeholders, including senior and executive level management.
- Well developed knowledge and considerable experience in contemporary financial management and reporting in a large/complex organisation, including budget preparation and review.
- Well developed interpersonal and communication skills to undertake consultation, collaboration and negotiation and to build effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders on financial issues.
- Well developed written communication skills, including experience in contributing reports, briefing papers and responses to Senior Executive and/or Ministerial/Parliamentary requests.
- Well developed skills and experience in achieving outcomes and delivering quality products and services consistent with customer needs and defined quality expectations, including timeliness.
- Well developed analytical and conceptual skills to provide innovative solutions to complex problems.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment;
- obtain or hold a current valid ‘C’ class Western Australian driver’s licence; and
- hold a recognised tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business, Finance or related areas or equivalent substantial experience.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
