Dalyellup College is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive English teacher to join their team.
It is desirable for the successful applicant to demonstrate strong professional qualities that will effectively support the existing, highly collaborative approach to curriculum and pedagogy planning, implementation and review. The College is seeking an applicant who will demonstrate a strong understanding of effectual lesson design to enable high quality learning outcomes, with consideration given to the college context. As an implicit component of this, applicants should be able to demonstrate knowledge and use of evidence-based instructional strategies that effectually engage students and cognitively scaffold high quality learning. In addition, it is desirable for the successful applicant to have an advanced understanding of highly effective classroom management strategies and can demonstrate the implementation of these to structure safe and orderly learning conditions for all students.
Dalyellup College is looking for a teacher who will be exceptional at engaging students from Years 7 to 12 in English and providing educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential. Expertise in planning and teaching Year 11 and 12 ATAR English courses and familiarity with Year 11 and 12 General English courses is preferred. Experience in the implementation of the Western Australian Curriculum in lower school English is essential.
Located 10 kilometres south of Bunbury in the new Dalyellup subdivision, Dalyellup College is a new school in the Bunbury region, having separated from Dalyellup Primary School in 2013 to become a Year 7 to 12 secondary facility and an Independent Public School. The College is also part of an Independent Public School Cluster, which includes Dalyellup Primary School and Tuart Forest Primary School. The College has completed a $30 million Stage Two Building Program and new secondary facilities. Staff have been appointed via merit selection and range in experience from 1 year to in excess of 15 years. All staff are highly motivated individuals who work collaboratively for the common good of the students.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
