Appointment Pool
The Teaching and Learning Services Directorate is seeking to establish a pool of highly motivated and committed Event Management Training Officers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2019 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2020. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2019 school year, up to the end of Term 3, 2020.
Suitable applicants will undertake research, analysis and evaluation to inform and provide recommendations for systems, policies, and process improvements, and make appropriate changes in accordance with outcomes. They will ensure approved event management initiatives are progressed and implemented effectively, including developing methods to evaluate and review the effectiveness of implemented initiatives.
To be successful in this role you provide a positive and proactive customer focused service improvement delivery model for all staff and monitor and evaluate customer education presentations to ensure accuracy of information provided and the specific business needs of clients are achieved.
The Teaching and Learning Services Directorate is responsible for the delivery of integrated state-wide services for networks, schools and teachers that support the learning and achievement of every student. We are focussed on better integration of services with schools, students, families and external service providers; supporting schools and networks of schools to deliver high quality teaching and learning in every classroom; and creating expanded opportunities for students to develop the academic, personal and social competencies they will need to participate in the future workforce and society.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Skills, experience and knowledge of event management within an information systems context.
- Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to build positive relationships and to influence, facilitate and negotiate effectively with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
- Well-developed analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to provide innovative solutions to problems.
- Well-developed planning, organisational and time management skills, including the proven capacity to prioritise work, meet agreed targets and deliver agreed results in a timely, efficient and customer-focused manner.
- Ability to develop, deliver and evaluate training programs.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
