The Knowledge, Information and Technology Directorate is responsible for providing technology solutions and support to the Department whilst continuously improving its services in support of operations. The Directorate plays a key role in supporting business improvement and efficiencies through integrated information management systems.
Role
As the Manager Medical Records Service you will manage and coordinate the Central Medical Records team responsible for the management of the Department’s patient medical records, information and records management systems to ensure the effective and efficient storage, security, retrieval and disposal of information.
The Manager Medical Records assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of policies, processes and procedures to ensure that the Department’s patient medical information and records lifecycle management is in accordance with legislative requirements and security and confidentiality standards. The position will also assist in the implementation of an increased digitisation strategy whilst maintaining information security.
Job related requirements
Essential:
Substantial experience in medical record administration including experience at a management level.
Expert knowledge of medical records health information systems.
Knowledge of legislation and standards relating to records management and information release.
Demonstrated experience in managing a team within an environment of departmental and cultural change.
High level of communication skills, written and oral, with effective interpersonal, negotiation and leadership skills.
Applicants would require a valid 'C' class Drivers Licence.
Ability to travel between Hakea and Perth CBD as required.
Desirable:
Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management or equivalent.
Eligibility for membership of the Health Information Management Association of Australia
