This is a Fixed Term Part Time appointment for 6 months at 30.4 hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of six (6) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
Position Profile: We are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced and enthusiastic person to the position of Assistant in Nursing. This position assists with the provision of general patient care supporting registered nurses (RN) and enrolled nurses (EN). The occupant of this position performs the primary function of an Assistant in Nursing as defined in Operational Directive – Assistants in Nursing – Duties and Competencies – 0419/13 under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Area Profile: Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH) is a new purpose built 298 bed specialist paediatric hospital and trauma centre providing outstanding inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory medical care to children and adolescents up to 16 years of age. Located on the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre site in Nedlands, Perth, the hospital became fully operational in June 2018 and features world class facilities specifically designed around the needs of children, adolescents, families and carers of Western Australia.
With state of the art technology PCH offers an extensive range of specialist paediatric medical and surgical services supported by our 2,500 strong workforce of doctors, nurses, allied health and health science, diagnostics and medical imaging technologists, support services and research and training areas. PCH is the only dedicated tertiary paediatric hospital in Western Australia and operates under the Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) providing services throughout the community within Perth metropolitan area; specialized state wide services; as well as providing support to other hospitals and health services across the state.
