This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time and Fixed Term Part Time appointments with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

Position Profile:  Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital is seeking to establish a pool of suitably experienced Registered Nurses for appointments within the Medical Division for Wards G72 and G74.

Ward G72 - Is a 36 bed Acute Assessment Unit (MAU) admitting patients with a wide range of medical conditions from the emergency department including patients requiring cardiac telemetry monitoring.

Ward G74 - Is a 32 bed acute general medical ward that admits the majority of their patients from MAU, emergency department and ICU for ongoing medical management.

The position, under the direction of the relevant Senior Registered Nurse(s), practises as a Registered Nurse in keeping with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board Registration Standards and Nursing Practice Decision Flowchart; provides comprehensive evidence-based nursing care to patients as part of a multidisciplinary team; upholds and functions within the core values of the organisation and nursing values of Accountability, Compassion, Continuous Learning & Teamwork.

The position involves working rotated shift work and successful applicants are expected to work morning, afternoon and night shifts depending on service needs.
 
Area Profile:  Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) is one of Australia's leading teaching tertiary hospitals. Located at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre 4km from Perth city centre, SCGH provides a comprehensive range of clinical services including trauma, emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, general medicine, general surgery, and cardiac care. It is home to WA's only comprehensive cancer centre - the largest cancer treatment centre in the State - and is the State's principal hospital for neurosurgery and liver transplants.
