This is a recruitment for Permanent and Fixed Term with possibility of permanency.

This position is offered as multiple Part Time appointments serving at Royal Perth Hospital, Bentley Health Service and Mount Lawley Hospital.

Royal Perth Hospital: 1.4 FTE

Bentley Health Service: 0.6 FTE

Mount Lawley Hospital: 0.6 FTE

About the Opportunity

The Wellbeing Facilitator provides comprehensive, proactive and responsive wellbeing and spiritual care support to staff across Royal Perth Hospital, Bentley Health Service and Mount Lawley Hospital. The role integrates experiential learning, facilitation, individual support, peer-based initiatives and service promotion to strengthen psychological, emotional, social and relational wellbeing in the healthcare workplace.

The position operates to workforce wellbeing strategy, service improvement and capability development, aligned with WA Health HSO Level 6 expectations and Spiritual Care Australia (SCA) Level 3 (Senior Practitioner) standards.

Suitability Criteria

In addition to the Essential Criteria and Desirable Criteria outlined in the attached Job Description Form, the below requirements will also be considered to determine your suitability for the role: 

  1. Ability to deliver safe, people-centred care within scope of practice
  2. Strong focus on early intervention
  3. Capability to have strong visibility and relationship-based engagement, particularly within multidisciplinary teams
  4. Capability in assessment, escalation and care planning
  5. Ability to manage complex situations and work autonomously
  6. Flexibility to work in three campuses as required

Essential Selection Criteria

  1. Satisfactory completion of one or more units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)
  2. Significant experience in chaplaincy, spiritual care or pastoral care roles preferably at the health care setting
  3. Demonstrated ability to participate in person-centred care planning and delivery
  4. Experience facilitating groups and reflective practice
  5. Experience delivering education programs
  6. Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
  7. Ability to manage complex situations and work autonomously
  8. Commitment to supervision, reflective practice and professional development
  9. Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
  10. Competent computer skills (Microsoft Office, Teams)

Desirable Selection Criteria

  1. Degree in Theology, Counselling, Pastoral Care, Psychology, Health or related discipline
  2. Additional CPE units or postgraduate qualifications
  3. Experience in staff wellbeing or peer support programs
  4. Training in facilitation, education or leadership
  5. Knowledge of diversity, inclusion and cultural safety frameworks

The East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS) comprises an extensive hospital and health service network that aims to maintain and improve the health and wellbeing of more than 828,000 Western Australians in its catchment area. Our hospital network works together to provide a combination of tertiary, secondary and specialist health care services including emergency and critical care, state trauma, elective and emergency surgery, general medical, mental health, inpatient and outpatient services, aged care, palliative care, rehabilitation and women’s, children’s and neonates services.

Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) is Western Australia's longest-serving hospital and renowned for contributing to innovation and excellence in medical research and patient care. It is a 450-bed hospital, with an extensive range of services including Adult major trauma, complex and elective surgical care, highly specialised surgical services, tertiary mental health and specialist medical services.

Bentley Health Service (BHS) is a fully accredited public hospital located 10km from the Perth CBD and forms part of the Royal Perth Bentley Mount Lawley Group. BHS provides quality healthcare to the community, specialising in the delivery of rehabilitation, community child and adolescent health, mental health care and aged care services. The range of services includes specialist outpatient services, Allied Health, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Gynaecology and Urology. 
 
Mount Lawley Hospital is part of the Royal Perth Bentley Mount Lawley Group and is located just minutes from the Perth CBD offering a range of services including Outpatient clinics, general medical, rehabilitation and geriatric services, surgical, day procedures and endoscopy.
