The Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic student to join our People and Culture team as a School-based Trainee.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable workplace experience while completing your studies. You will work alongside experienced professionals who support employee learning, development, onboarding and employment programs across the Department.
About the role
As a School-based Trainee, you will work in People and Culture, assisting the Capability and Development team with a range of administrative and coordination activities. This role will provide exposure to human resources, learning and development functions within a large government organisation.
You will gain experience in:
- responding to email and phone enquiries from employees and other internal stakeholders
- using the Department's Learning Management System to enrol employees in training and maintain learning records
- assisting with the coordination of training sessions, onboarding activities and employment program events
- supporting the preparation of communications and promotional content for learning and development programs
- updating information on the Department's intranet and other internal resources
- creating, saving and maintaining electronic records and documents
- undertaking a variety of administrative tasks, including data entry, filing and completing forms.
