This is a 6-month fixed term, part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2026 with possible permanency

Northampton DHS is located in the rural setting of Northampton. Providing high quality education for the local community, it caters to children from Kindergarten to Year 10.

The school has nine all-purpose classrooms that are used by both the Primary and Secondary students. It has a custom-built library, Early Childhood Centre, manual arts room, home economics room and art room.

The Location and Community

Northampton is located 54km from Geraldton and is one of Western Australia’s oldest towns. It is rich in history and beauty and there is something for everyone to see and do here. Horrocks is located 15 minutes to the west of town which amazing beaches and coastal lifestyle. With its proximity to Geraldton, access to services, sporting clubs, restaurants and shopping facilities, Northampton is a fantastic community to work and live in.

The Role

The successful applicant should ideally possess excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and be capable of delivering content in an engaging manner.

You would ideally possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective interaction with students, colleagues, and parents. Additionally, you should be a highly effective team member, actively contributing to a positive culture of success where students are motivated to achieve their personal best. We place value on linking learning with real-world experiences, ensuring students gain currency for pathways beyond school.

The learning environment you create should be differentiated, challenging, caring and creative, while catering for a range of needs that sees all students progressing and achieving. You should be able to utilise evidence-based teaching practices whilst employing a range of assessment and reporting methods.

There is an additional 0.2FTE as a Design and Technologies Teacher available for the successful applicant if you have the skill.
