We are seeking to establish a pool of English Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Secondary College (SC) opened in 2018 and is a large secondary school catering for students from Year 7 to 12 in Perth’s Swan Valley. The College is recognised as a school of choice, with high expectations and standards, a progressive approach and a commitment to excellence.

The Role

Aveley SC is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated English Teachers to join our collaborative English team.

Suitable applicants will ideally be committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning programs that engage students and support them to achieve their potential. Teachers appointed through this pool may have opportunities to teach across a range of year levels and courses, depending on the needs of the College.

Ideally, we are seeking teachers who:

• build positive relationships with students and create inclusive and engaging learning environments;
• demonstrate a commitment to our signature pedagogy of Explicit Direct Instruction;
• use assessment and feedback to support student progress;
• collaborate effectively with colleagues to develop and implement quality curriculum programs;
• contribute positively to the broader life and culture of the College;
• have experience or interest in literacy intervention, explicit reading instruction, and evidence-based literacy practices is desirable but not essential.

Suitable applicants will ideally show a commitment to high expectations, reflective practice and continuous improvement.
