The Role

Duncraig SHS is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Business Teacher to join the Technologies Learning Area. The position is primarily Business focused with the successful applicant expected to deliver engaging and high-quality Business programs including Business Management and Enterprise across both lower and senior school. Experience in delivering lower school Digital Technologies would be well regarded but not essential. The successful applicant should be open to building their repertoire of skills within this domain. Teachers with strong Business backgrounds from the Humanities Learning Area are encouraged to apply. 

The successful applicant should display the capacity to plan and deliver learning programs that respond to the diverse needs and interests of students. The successful applicant should endeavour to encourage student engagement by connecting course content to authentic workplace enterprise, financial literacy and entrepreneurial contexts. Experience delivering Vocational Education and Training (VET) particularly Certificate II in Workplace Skills and/or Certificate III in Business will be advantageous. 

The successful applicant will ideally have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum, be able to deliver content in an engaging manner, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be a highly effective team member. Experience with Gifted and Talented students and a displayed ability to effectively differentiate for both academic extension and Students at Educational Risk (SAER) will be highly valued. 

Duncraig SHS offers a range of extracurricular programs and opportunities for students, applicants who display a history and/or passion for being involved in these important complementary programs would be highly regarded. 

The successful applicant will ideally be improvement focused and should be committed to their own going professional development. Duncraig SHS places significant focus on the quality of teaching and learning.
