The Child Development Service are seeking enthusiastic, passionate, and skilled Speech Pathologists who can support infants, children and young people with developmental concerns to reach their full potential.
We currently have vacancies available for appointment in various Child Development Service locations in the Perth metropolitan area:
- 0.6 FTE (Full Time Equivalent) fixed term contract for 3 months with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency within the Aboriginal Health Team.
This position covers AHT services across Midland, Kwinana and Mandurah.
- 1.0 FTE fixed term contract for 3 months with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency based across Joondalup and Clarkson Child Development Service.
Part Time arrangement may be negotiable between 0.6 - 0.9FTE.
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill these vacancies, it may also be used to appoint applicants, assessed as suitable during this selection process, to the same or other similar positions at CAHS for up to 12 months from when the authorised delegated authority endorses the recruitment decision.These can be permanent full time, permanent part time, fixed term full time or fixed term part time with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
About the role:
The Child Development Service are seeking suitably experienced and enthusiastic Speech Pathologists to join our team in the role of Senior Speech Pathologist.
In this position you will plan, coordinate and direct clinical, supervisory and professional functions of the Speech Pathology service at the Child Development Service as well as providing speech pathology services at an advanced level of practice to assigned caseload.
Reporting to the Manager Speech Pathology, your key responsibilities will include:
- Provide evidence-based Speech Pathology services to clients within assigned caseload at an advanced level of clinical practice.
- Actively prioritise and coordinate own caseload including participating in clinical review meetings and case conferences as appropriate.
- Participate as an active and senior member of the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in supervision, professional development and clinical consultation activities with the Manager Speech Pathology.
- Act as a consultant and educator to speech pathologists, other professionals, families and carers in relation to the management of speech pathology clients.
- Plan, coordinate and direct clinical, supervisory, professional and administrative functions of the Speech Pathology service.
A tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and eligibility for full practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) is a requirement of this role.
About Child Development Service
The Child Development Service provides multidisciplinary assessment and intervention services to infant, children and young people with developmental delay or difficulties that impact on function, participation and/or the parent-child relationship.
Clinicians adopt a child and family-centred approach, working in partnership with families to address developmental concerns that are of priority to the family. Our teams include Clinical Psychologists, Developmental Paediatricians, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Speech Pathologists and other allied health professionals.
The Child Development Service provides services at approximately 18 locations across the metropolitan Perth area, as well as providing home, school and community visits as needed.
