About The Role:
As a Senior Project Manager (Regional), you will play a pivotal role in delivering essential infrastructure projects and programs across regional and remote Western Australia. You will lead the end-to-end delivery of medium to high-risk building and construction projects, while also overseeing a diverse portfolio of minor works and maintenance activities.
Working closely with government agencies, local industry, and private sector partners, you will drive projects that directly support communities – delivering facilities such as housing, schools, health infrastructure, and other critical assets. This role also contributes to strategic asset planning, capital works programs, and the long-term sustainability of government infrastructure.
This position is based in Kalgoorlie and plays a key role in supporting the region’s unique infrastructure needs. As such, it is ideally suited to individuals who are already part of the local community or those who are motivated to live and work in a regional setting, bringing a strong understanding of regional challenges and opportunities.
You will lead multidisciplinary project teams, manage procurement and contracts, and build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard. You will also contribute to whole-of-government objectives, including supporting regional and Aboriginal business engagement and ensuring community outcomes remain central to your work.
About You:
You are an experienced and motivated project professional with a strong track record in delivering complex building and construction projects – ideally within regional or remote environments. You bring a strategic mindset, sound judgement, and the ability to navigate complexity while achieving results.
With highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, you can build trusted relationships, influence outcomes, and collaborate effectively with diverse groups – including government agencies, contractors, and local communities.
You are confident managing procurement processes and contracts, with the ability to balance competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment. Your leadership style reflects a commitment to developing others, fostering collaboration, and creating a positive, accountable team culture aligned with public sector values
Importantly, you are adaptable and resilient, with a genuine interest in regional service delivery and a passion for contributing to infrastructure that supports Western Australian communities.
This position operates in the context of Leading Others. This means that you will motivate and enable others to deliver high quality work. You will balance time between doing the work and coaching, guiding and developing others. This requires a significant shift in thinking from ‘doing’ to supporting others to ‘do good work’; and consideration of present and future needs when allocating time to the team and projects you lead. You will articulate how work is to be done, providing clear direction and feedback.
How to Apply:
If you have what it takes to be part of our dynamic and forward-thinking team, submit the following in MS Word or PDF format only:
- A comprehensive CV that shows your skills, experiences and key achievements, including the contact details of two referees (with one being your current or most recent supervisor).
- Cover letter of two (2) pages or less, outlining how you meet the essential requirements of the role and demonstrate leadership behaviours.
Please ensure you apply before the closing deadline as we won’t accept late and incomplete applications.
