About The Role:

The Senior Program Manager provides strategic leadership, technical direction and maintains delivery oversight for the statewide planning and implementation of the Department of Education’s transportable relocation and installation program, as well as awareness of the transportable construction program and its strategic alignment. The role leads and supports a team of project managers and is accountable for the delivery of multiple concurrent projects of medium to significant risk. Working collaboratively with the Department of Education and school stakeholders, the position ensures consistent, compliant, and timely delivery outcomes through effective team leadership, contractor management, and oversight of private sector consultants.

About You:

We are seeking a leader who:

• Provides strong leadership and possesses highly developed technical project management skills to support the timely delivery of a transportable program for the Department of Education.
• Takes accountability and personal responsibility for meeting objectives and progressing work.
• Proactively anticipates risks, identifies potential issues, and applies a flexible mindset to develop strategies that ensure successful outcomes.
• Has a sound knowledge of building code compliance requirements, particularly for transportable installations, to ensure adherence to Development Applications, Building Permits, and Occupancy Permits.
• Communicates effectively to build and maintain strong relationships with program stakeholders while providing sound advice to senior management.
• Leads by example, mentoring staff and identifying opportunities for their growth and development.

This position operates in the context of Leading Others. This means that you will motivate and enable others to deliver high quality work. You will balance time between doing the work and coaching, guiding and developing others. This requires a significant shift in thinking from ‘doing’ to supporting others to ‘do good work’; and consideration of present and future needs when allocating time to the team and projects you lead.
