About the opportunity

There are currently three fixed-term position/s with the possibility of extension and/or permanency available for immediate filling. 

Regional Development Officer – Level 5
Senior Regional Development Officer - Level 6
Principal Regional Development Officer – Level 7

An exciting opportunity to be part of delivering the State Government’s Collie Just Transition Plan in partnership with the Department of Premier and Cabinet’s Collie Delivery Unit. Applicants will have demonstrated knowledge and experience in business development and support, including small business and SME supply chain development; knowledge of existing and emerging industries in the Collie-Bunbury area; and a good understanding of government funding programs. Experience delivering large capital projects desirable.

We are looking for individuals who:   

- Have experience in strategic leadership in economic and regional development initiatives.
- Can lead the planning, assessment and delivery of development projects and investment opportunities.
- Oversee project governance, performance monitoring and contract management.
- Provide evidence-based analysis and recommendations to inform regional development priorities.
- Manage stakeholder engagement, reporting and executive briefings on major development projects.
- Delivers projects and programs that support sustainable economic and community outcomes.

DPIRD is an Emergency Management Agency and all employees may be required to work or travel during, or outside of, normal business hours to assist with incidents and emergencies.

To be eligible for a fixed term or a casual appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period as part of your application.

You will be required to provide a current National Police Certificate (police clearance) before commencing employment. If not currently held, this must be acquired prior to appointment at applicant’s expense. 

This pool will be valid for a period of twelve (12) months following finalisation of the process and may be used to fill other same/similar permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies with the possibility of extension or permanency at locations listed in this advert.  Please note, being appointed to the pool does not guarantee you a placement to a position.
