About us
The Department of Treasury and Finance is at the centre of Government decision-making. As the principal economic and financial advisor, we provide leadership and strategic advice and influence to support the delivery of services and outcomes for the benefit of Western Australia.
What we do is integral to the Government’s decision-making processes about where and how to spend taxpayer’s money to ensure Western Australians have access to quality services on a financially sustainable basis.
We lead procurement and leverage our buying power to secure products and services for government, achieving value for money for WA.
We collect revenue to fund government services and administer payment of grants and subsidies to the WA community.
The work area
The Procurement Policy and Strategy business unit is responsible for a whole of government approach to procurement policy including administration of the Procurement Act, procurement systems and intelligence as well as whole of government common use arrangements and assurance functions that efficiently meet the business needs of government agencies, manage risks and deliver value for money.

We are looking for a motivated and passionate person to join us and make a difference for Western Australia. In this role, you will:
- Lead a small and motivated team delivering strategic capability development initiatives
- Drive the development of the procurement profession in the WA public sector
- Engage with data and stakeholders to identify capability gaps and develop strategic responses to address them.
We currently have one (1) permanent full-time or part-time position available for filling within the Social Procurement and Sector Capability team.
