About The Role:
The Directorate of Maintenance is accountable for leading, planning and delivering the Department’s Residential Asset Management services, including the Maintenance and Refurbishment programs.
The role provides oversight of the Department’s residential asset-base and Head Maintenance Contractor frameworks and works with operational staff across the state to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Department’s significant asset base.
This position is responsible for managing and overseeing the contract management section. The position will be able to lead, guide, support and mentor to obtain the best practice service delivery and ensures consistency with Government objectives and priorities in contract management.
The role contributes to building organisational capability and capacity to respond to emergency and/or disaster situations, ensuring that maintenance services and contractor arrangements can be mobilised effectively to support affected communities. This includes supporting the coordination and delivery of responsive maintenance services during emergencies, to ensure assets remain safe, functional, and fit for purpose.
The role provides performance reporting to deliver processes in line with the strategic business plan within the Housing Policy and Development business structure and will manage and support other compliance related corporate issues to ensure that the organisational reputation and political risks are represented. The position is also responsible for keeping the corporate executives informed about the requirements and progress of the contract management section.
