About us
The Department of Treasury and Finance is at the centre of Government decision-making. As the principal economic and financial advisor, we provide leadership and strategic advice and influence to support the delivery of services and outcomes for the benefit of Western Australia.
What we do is integral to the Government’s decision-making processes about where and how to spend taxpayer’s money to ensure Western Australians have access to quality services on a financially sustainable basis.
We lead procurement and leverage our buying power to secure products and services for government, achieving value for money for WA.
We collect revenue to fund government services and administer payment of grants and subsidies to the WA community.
The work area
This role sits within the Finance and Procurement Services team which is part of the Corporate Strategy and Performance business unit.
The Finance and Procurement Services team is a driven, enthusiastic team that works in partnership with business areas to drive solutions and initiatives that ensure DTF operates in a manner that is efficient and sustainable, whilst achieving the agency’s objectives. This includes:
- the preparation of financial information to facilitate and discharge statutory reporting obligations including Budget Papers and Financial Statements;
- the provision of advice on the effectiveness of financial, budget management and financial controls in meeting the requirements of the agency;
- provision of guidance on financial and governance risks to the agency’s current and projected services; and the provision of oversight, advice and support of the DTF’s procurement function.
The opportunity
We are looking for a motivated and forward-thinking procurement professional to join us and make a difference for Western Australia. In this role, you will:
- lead DTF’s procurement function and manage the procurement team to provide support services in the area of procure to pay administration, goods and services contract formation and corporate credit card administration.
- coordinate DTF’s procure to pay process and provides leadership and support to staff located across all Business Units.
We currently have one (1) permanent full-time position available for filling within the Finance Procurement Services team.
