We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistants – Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2027. The Role

Education Assistants play a vital role in supporting students to reach their full potential across academic, social, emotional, and physical domains. As a Education Assistant - Special Needs at our school, you would under teacher direction, assist in implementing educational programs and promoting a supportive, inclusive learning environment. This includes assisting in the delivery of planned educational programs and using digital technologies and classroom resources effectively. You should ideally be organised and able to use your initiative to assist the teacher with the general care and wellbeing of students and maintenance of the learning environment.

Suitable applicants will ideally have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff to meet the diverse needs of students.

In this role, you would ideally provide feedback on education and therapy programs when required and participate in the evaluation of student progress toward individual goals within a special education context Ideally, you would have knowledge of special needs documented plans and the ability to work with teachers to create appropriate goals for the students you work with is desirable. Experience working with students with a range of disabilities and learning difficulties is highly desirable, along with the capacity to support students’ academic and social development in the classroom.

Flexibility and adaptability are desirable, as the role may require working across multiple classrooms with students of varying needs and backgrounds. A willingness to engage in our whole-school observation process and a commitment to ongoing professional learning, and development through Education assistant meetings and staff development days is highly valued.
