The Role

We are looking for Special Needs Education Assistants who are eager to make a real difference in the lives of young people. Suitable applicants would support the delivery of differentiated programs and Collaborative Proactive Solutions in partnership with teachers, parents and professionals. At times, you may be required to share knowledge of school procedures, policies, and learning programs with families and the wider community.

Our Special Needs Education Assistants are encouraged to grow and stay up to date with current strategies, research and technologies that enhance their work. Experience or knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice, mental health, autism, and intellectual disability is highly valued, as is training in Team Teach and the ability to provide safe, positive handling of students when required. In addition, an ability to support students in offsite programs (eg. Workplace Learning and Volunteering) is highly regarded.

  • 6. Demonstrated ability to assist with the general health and well being of students.
