The Opportunity

This is one of two newly created senior leadership positions that will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Metropolitan Cemeteries Board (MCB).

As Director Infrastructure & Property, you will lead the strategic planning, development and management of MCB's diverse land, property and infrastructure portfolio, ensuring our cemeteries and memorial parks continue to meet the needs of Western Australia's growing and diverse communities for generations to come.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will provide strategic leadership across land use planning, cemetery development, asset management, capital works, infrastructure planning and environmental sustainability. Along with your team, you will be responsible for identifying and securing future cemetery capacity, optimising the use of existing assets, and delivering innovative solutions that respond to changing community expectations and long-term demand.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and implement frameworks, policies and plans for land acquisition, property management, development, utilisation and leasing.
• Identify, assess and manage strategic and operational risks across the land and infrastructure portfolio, including environmental, planning, compliance, service continuity and legislative requirements.
• Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships to understand future service demand, emerging trends and evolving community expectations.
• Lead research, analysis and initiatives on land use, cemetery development, asset optimisation and infrastructure planning to support sustainable growth and service delivery.
• Provide oversight of capital works programs ensuring delivery is within approved scope, budget, timeframe and quality standards.
• Champion safety, innovation, sustainability and continuous improvement across property and infrastructure functions to maximise public value and support the long-term stewardship of MCB's assets.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have as a minimum:

• Experience in managing land, property and infrastructure portfolios, ideally within a community service environment.
• Extensive experience leading the planning and delivery of major capital works programs and infrastructure projects
• Strong commercial, financial and strategic planning capability, with experience managing budgets, investment priorities and resources.
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills in creating and maintaining strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
