Step into the world of Working with Children Screening or NDIS Screening, where your work is more than just a job.
As a Customer Support Officer, you will be the first point of contact for members of the community accessing the Working with Children Screening Unit’s or NDIS Worker Screening Unit’s services, and you will be responsible for:
- liaising with and informing stakeholders regarding processes and requirements to comply with the Working with Children (Screening) Act 2004 (WWC Act) or the National Disability Insurance Scheme (Worker Screening) Act 2020 (NDIS Worker Screening Act),
- Answering queries and correspondence received from stakeholders about the services of the Screening Units and the operation and scope of the relevant legislation.
- Referring requests for information or assistance appropriately, internally or externally, with supporting documentation if required, as well as preparing written responses in accordance with legislative requirements, policy and procedures.
- Processing applications, trouble shooting, resolving issues and seeking additional information from stakeholders while undertaking low-level complaint resolution towards positive outcomes for customers.

Personal Attributes:
- Able to cope with exposure to and discussions related to highly sensitive information including criminal history.
- Initiative to seek appropriate support to manage complex situations such as aggressive customers and personal reactions to exposure to sensitive information.
- Ability to use multiple systems simultaneously.
- Ability to identify, understand and resolve customer issues in relation to online application services on the phone or via email.
- Capacity to comprehend and relay large volumes of complex information over the telephone.
Organisational:
- Ability to understand, interpret legislation and relay this information to others.
- Understanding of the requirement to adhere to role specific legislative delegations
