About the role

As our Communications and Events Officer, you will showcase the remarkable scientific work and share stories in creative and engaging ways. You will develop engaging content across digital and traditional platforms, coordinate social media campaigns and corporate events, manage community engagement activities and deliver student education and outreach programs that inspire the next generation of scientists.

Working closely with researchers, forensic specialists, environmental scientists and executive leaders, you will develop and implement a range of marketing and communication initiatives that enhance our profile and support our strategic objective.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is curious, creative, highly organised, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. You will have an ability to build strong relationships with broad range of stakeholders and manage corporate and promotional events in a fast-paced environment.

This position is a permanent Full-time. 

Suitable applicants may be considered for like positions within 12 months from the date of finalisation of the selection process.

The position is located in Building 500, Resources and Chemistry Precinct, Manning Road, Bentley.

Eligibility 
To be eligible for a permanent position, Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is essential.

ChemCentre does not currently participate in employer visa sponsorship arrangements.

Upon appointment, applicants will be required to provide a National Police Clearance and pass a Fit for Work test (completed prior to commencement).

  • A written statement (no more than two (2) pages) demonstrating your ability to meet the following work-related criteria (Selection Criteria), as listed in the attached JDF:

    Selection Criteria 2: Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to research, write and edit content to suit different target audiences across a range of platforms.

    Selection Criteria 4: Experience in digital communications, including managing multiple social media platforms, and contemporary graphic design software e.g. Adobe InDesign; and Microsoft Office.

    Selection Criteria 5: Well-developed interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to establish and cultivate strong relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

The remaining Work-related criteria (Selection Criteria) will be assessed at a later stage of the recruitment and selection process.
