About the role
The Infrastructure and Environment Directorate is accountable for strategic management and planning involving the acquisition, management and maintenance of assets including built infrastructure, vehicles, leased office accommodation and employee housing. The Directorate is also responsible for planning and implementation of programs and initiatives to decrease the Department’s environmental impacts.
The Business Services Officer is responsible for providing support to the Business Services branch and corporate support to the Directorate. The position is relied upon to coordinate and assist with the delivery of human, financial and physical resource requirements and for effective monitoring and reporting practices.
Listed below are the key responsibilities of this position and what the panels are looking for.
- Assists with the coordination of human, financial and physical activities, reporting and providing a range of support services to the Manager and the Directorate.
- Assists the Business Manager in relation with employee onboarding and offboarding processes for staff within Directorate and Temporary project staff at site locations.
- Contribute to the implementation of projects to improve the effectiveness and undertakes information gathering as required.
- Contributes to financial management related activities such as the monthly financial salary journals from Recurrent to Capital infrastructure projects.
- Monitors and reports on transaction expenditure against the budget, assisting with forecasting and the budget status for the Directorate.
- Coordinates the Capital Report Distribution for forwarding to Project Managers to update forecasts collating responses and liaising with Finance.
- Support the process of procurement tasks (raising requisitions within the Oracle system with details and receipting of invoices in line with Purchase Orders, actioning necessary change orders).

To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
