The Opportunity

Delivering one of the Metropolitan Cemeteries Board's (MCB) core services, you will join the Operations Directorate in a specialist leadership role responsible for supporting safe, consistent and compliant burial operations across all MCB locations.

As an experienced and collaborative Burials Coordinator, you will work closely with Operations Managers and frontline teams to ensure burial services are delivered with dignity, professionalism and care while maintaining the highest standards of governance and operational excellence.

This is more than a coordination role. You will be a trusted subject matter expert, providing leadership, guidance and support to operational teams while driving continuous improvement initiatives across burial operations.

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate and oversee burial operations standards across multiple MCB sites.
  • Provide expert advice, guidance and support to Operations Managers and cemetery teams.
  • Develop, implement and review operational procedures, work instructions and standards.
  • Lead training, competency development and operational capability programs.
  • Monitor compliance with legislation, policies, procedures and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate investigations into incidents, near misses and operational non-conformances.
  • Identify operational risks and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Analyse operational performance and recommend improvements to service delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to support consistent customer-focused outcomes.
  • Contribute to strategic projects, governance initiatives and continuous improvement programs.

The role offers a unique opportunity to influence how burial services are delivered across Greater Perth while supporting teams that provide an essential service to our community.

This position is based at Karrakatta Cemetery; however, regular travel across MCB's metropolitan cemeteries and memorial parks is required to support operational teams, undertake site inspections, deliver training, and ensure consistent burial standards across all locations.

For more information, please refer to the attached Job Description Form (JDF) and/or contact Justin Ainge, A/Director Operations, on 08 9319 0407 or justin.ainge@mcb.wa.gov.au
