As part of the State Services Division, the core purpose of the Governance and Strategy Branch is to manage the Department's governance and risk exposure. This includes leading and managing the Department Governance Framework; facilitating audit processes, strengthening organisational resilience through risk management and business continuity planning, ensuring compliance and integrity and driving strategic planning and performance.
About the Role
The Audit and Risk Lead role is a business-critical role that supports the Department manage risk, strengthen governance and maintain organisational resilience. Working across all business areas, the role oversees the Department's risk and assurance framework, manages the outsourced internal audit provider, and supports the effective operation of the Audit and Risk Management Committee.
Leading a small team, this appointment offers a unique opportunity to gain broad exposure to strategic governance, enterprise risk management, assurance activities, executive decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives. It provides valuable insight into how the Department operates and the opportunity to influence outcomes that have an organisation-wide impact.

Applicants are required to submit:
- A current and detailed résumé/curriculum vitae outlining your current and previous achievements; and including the contact details of two referees (with at least one being your current or a recent supervisor), and
- A written application demonstrating how you meet the following Work-Related Capabilities (Selection Criteria) in no more than 1 page.
- Substantial experience in the leadership of enterprise-level risk management, risk assessments and business continuity strategies and frameworks within a large and complex organisation
- The ability to prepare presentations, written reports, briefing papers and educational material on complex matters for a range of audiences
Fixed Term appointment:
- To be eligible for fixed term appointment you must have a current visa that allows you to work for the required term and hours of the contract.
