Payroll Assurance and Compliance are seeking to establish a pool of Assurance and Compliance Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2026 and up to the end of October, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The objective of the Payroll Assurance and Compliance Team is to facilitate the implementation of the remedial action arising from the Payroll Compliance Review project, to deliver compliant systems and processes that accord with the industrial instruments. The Payroll Assurance and Compliance Team is identified in the Business and Customer Services (BCS) Business Plan as an important element to manage and improve the critical business systems and processes, ensuring high quality data-driven governance and risk management.

The Role

The suitable applicants will demonstrate substantial knowledge and experience of payroll services within the WA public sector. The role provides high-level support to the Manager, Payroll Assurance and Compliance, Principal Compliance Advisor, Senior Assurance Officer, Senior Compliance Officers and the broader Compliance Team in the administration and remediation of identified non-compliance issues and casual long service leave matters. The role involves assisting with the review, investigation and remediation of non-compliance issues, supporting the delivery and continuous improvement of compliance systems and processes through the development of resources to assist compliant processing, effective stakeholder engagement and participating in compliance and assurance reviews.

Responsibilities also include conducting assurance checks of casual long service leave calculations, completing User Acceptance Testing (UAT), undertaking data cleansing activities, and assisting with the preparation and delivery of training related to casual long service leave. Additionally, the position requires ensuring the accurate and compliant disbursement of casual long service leave entitlements to eligible deceased estates, while maintaining a strong focus on legislative compliance, accuracy and stakeholder support.
