About us
The Department of Treasury and Finance is at the centre of Government decision-making. As the principal economic and financial advisor, we provide leadership and strategic advice and influence to support the delivery of services and outcomes for the benefit of Western Australia.
What we do is integral to the Government’s decision-making processes about where and how to spend taxpayer’s money to ensure Western Australians have access to quality services on a financially sustainable basis.
We lead procurement and leverage our buying power to secure products and services for government, achieving value for money for WA.
We collect revenue to fund government services and administer payment of grants and subsidies to the WA community.
The work area
This role sits within the Commercial Advisory Directorate which is part of the Advisory Services business unit. The Commercial Advisory team works with a diverse set of agencies, commercial parties and advisors to provide Government with commercial and contractual expertise on large and complex transactions and projects across portfolios.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced operator to join us in making a difference for Western Australia. In this role, you will:
- lead the development and assessment of options for proposed commercial and contractual arrangements;
- provide advice to DTF executives, governance groups and key stakeholders on the implementation of large and complex commercial transactions and projects; and
- develop and maintain trusted and credible relationships with senior stakeholders to strengthen DTF’s influence and collaborative partnerships and build capability across the public sector and within the team.
We currently have one (1) permanent full-time position available for filling within the Commercial Advisory team.
