This is a recruitment pool for Permanent Full Time / Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time / Part Time and casual appointments with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 31st January 2027.

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Allied Health Assistant to join our Dietetics & Nutrition team within the Royal Perth Bentley Mt Lawley Group (RPBMG). This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced Dieticians and multidisciplinary teams delivering high-quality patient-centred care.

About the Opportunity

You will assist Dietetic staff as directed to enable daily provision of Dietetic and Nutition department clinical services. We are primarily looking for placement at Mt Lawley Hospital but will consider suitable candidates for other hospitals as the need arises.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with dietetic programs as directed by the treating dietitian
  • Completes screening assessments, and outcome measurements as directed by the treating Dietitian 
  • Identify and report on factors that place patients at nutritional and hydration risk
  • Apply clinical nutrition and therapeutic diet protocols as delegated
  • Assist patients to make appropriate menu choices (food allergies and/or intolerances)
  • Assists the treating dietitian with implementation and monitoring of prescribed nutrition care plans, including discharge planning.
  • Monitors patients and provides feedback to the treating Dietitian on any changes in status.
  • Responsible for the documentation of independently administered treatments in the patient integrated medical records.

Suitability Criteria

  • Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance/Therapy Assistance or equivalent experience.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience assisting with patient assessment and intervention programs.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organisational and workload management skills.
