Join our Nutrition and Dietetics team and support the delivery of safe, high-quality nutritional care for hospital inpatients.

This is a Permanent Part Time or Fixed Term Part Time appointment(s) with the posssibility of extension(s) and/or permanency. We currently have 0.4 Permanent FTE available and 0.6 Fixed Term FTE available.

About the Role

We are seeking compassionate dynamic candidates for the role of Allied Health Assistants.

You will work under the direction of Dietitians and as part of a multidisciplinary team, to ensure patients receive appropriate meals and dietary support while contributing to positive health outcomes.

Your attention to detail and ability to work effectively with a wide range of clinical and support staff will be essential in helping provide high-quality nutrition care for children and their families.

As an Allied Health Assistant within our Dietetics Department, your responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with dietitians, patients, parents / carers, speech therapists, food services staff and nursing staff regarding special dietary requirements and documenting special diets in medical records.
  • Ensure patient food allergies are accurately recorded in software systems.
  • Creating and coordinating individualised meal orders inpatients according to their therapeutic dietary requirements.
  • Liaising with food service staff regarding ingredients used in recipes and food stocks.
  • Participating in quality improvement activities
  • Measuring height and weight change and maintaining growth charts for patients.
  • Assisting with menu software updates and reporting and reviewing allergy meal ingredients for compliancy & accuracy.
