Applicants found suitable are placed in a pool and may be offered full-time, part-time, casual, permanent and fixed term positions. Applicants appointed for a fixed term may be offered a permanent position in the future and may be eligible for conversion to permanency.

About the role
In this position you will be responsible for providing a range of support services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to assist them in their studies at South Metropolitan TAFE.

The role includes the coordination of student study support needs, collaboration with lecturing and other support staff and liaison with government and community agencies where appropriate.

To be successful in this role you will ideally bring experience in delivering culturally appropriate support and effectively engaging with Aboriginal people and communities. You will also demonstrate strong skills in maintaining accurate case notes and be proficient in using Microsoft applications, including Excel.

Employment is subject to:

  • A satisfactory Department of Education Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
  • A valid Working with Children (WWC) Card, where applicable
