An exciting opportunity exists to join the dynamic Education Team at the Western Australian Maritime Museum
The Museum is seeking a motivated team member with strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills who has experience in developing and delivering innovative, curriculum based programs and activities for Years K-12.
We are currently seeking a team member with Primary education qualifications and recent experience teaching primary aged students.
Conditions
This is a full-time, fixed-term vacancy for a period of 6 months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. There will also be a Pool operating for a period of 12 months from initial appointment. Suitable applicants not initially appointed will be placed in the Pool and may be offered fixed-term or permanent positions as they arise.

This position is located in historic Fremantle, close to the bustling cafe strip and the tourist sights and the modern new Maritime Museum.
Job Description
The Education Officer's primary role is to enhance the Museum's profile through the development, implementation and evaluation of high quality education programs and resources for Years K-12 that are relevant to the collections at the Maritime Museum and Shipwreck Galleries. For this purpose, the Education Officer is required to become familiar with the content of the exhibitions and collections in the Museum.
The position operates within the Museum strategic plan and within the parameters set by the individual site manager. The Education Officer is part of the Education team, and works under the direction of the Education Team Leader. The incumbent must abide by and apply the guidelines and principles of the Western Australian Public Sector Code of Ethics and the Department's Code of Conduct.
