Job Description
• Undertakes designated marine monitoring, evaluation and reporting (MER) for the conservation of Western Australia’s marine biodiversity, with a particular focus on marine protected areas and threatened fauna, under immediate direction of senior staff.
• Provides expert scientific advice on these matters as required.
Selection Criteria
Applicants should address the following four criteria in a written application. These should be addressed in no more than three pages.
Note: All criteria are considered essential unless specified otherwise
1. Demonstrated capacity to lead teams in the field.
2. Demonstrated ability to develop and apply standard techniques for monitoring changes in marine communities and the pressures (natural, anthropogenic and climate change) that affect them.
3. Demonstrated general knowledge of coral reefs and some knowledge of the marine biodiversity of Western Australia.
4. Demonstrated capacity to plan and concurrently implement a range of science projects (desirable).
