The College is establishing a pool of suitable applicants for appointment to lecturing vacancies in this subject area that arise during the next two (2) years. With the introduction of extended recruitment pools, applications will be accepted throughout the two (2) year advertising period, with appointments being made on an as needs basis. Appointments may be made on a full-time, part-time, permanent or contract basis.
Applications will remain open until 31 August 2010 after which time suitable applicants can be sought from the pool for a further six (6) months.
The Real Estate lecturer prepares, delivers, assesses and evaluates educational programs for undergraduate students studying Real Estate courses, in accordance with the relevant Industry Training Package. The lecturer will maintain strong links with the Real Estate industry thereby ensuring they are able to present industry specific information and knowledge applicable to residential/commercial sales operations and property management operations in a contemporary context. Student performance is assessed against established industry competency standards. The Lecturer must have an aptitude for training and facilitating group learning for adults.
Applicants should demonstrate a genuine interest in education and training, a willingness to seek constant improvement in their professional competence and a commitment to maintaining current industry standards in their delivery. Candidates with strong interpersonal and team skills will be highly regarded.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Applicants demonstrate evidence of the following fundamental requirements of this position:
1. Current technical knowledge and competencies in the industrial vocation or professional field relevant to this position.
2. At least 5 years of vocational or lecturing experience relevant to the professional field relevant to this position.
3. Well developed written and verbal communication skills
4. Well developed organisational skills, including the ability to work in a team environment.
5. Demonstrated ability to facilitate and encourage learning using several modes of delivery.
6. Demonstrated initiative and self motivation.
7. Ability to demonstrate an understanding of Equal Opportunity principles and develop appropriate strategies to incorporate these into the learning environment.
8. Understanding of and experience using information technology (eg word processing, internet)
Minimum Qualifications
1. It is preferred that applicants already possess a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training (or higher recognised teaching qualification) or can demonstrate progression towards the Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training. However, applicants without the above are still eligible to apply but must obtain the Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training within their first 2 years of employment.
2. Relevant Tertiary and/or Industry Qualification.
