JOB DESCRIPTION: General By-Election for the District of Willagee has been called for 28 November 2009.
This is a unique opportunity to participate in assisting the Western Australian Electoral Commission to successfully manage the forthcoming WillageeBy-Election. As a member of the polling day team reporting directly to the Returning Officer, you will participate in the election process and be part of the team that works at the polling booth on election day.
Duties include:
- Issue ballot papers to electors;
- Mark electors' names on a voters' roll;
- Count ordinary votes;
- Answer enquiries from electors;
- Prepare and Issue Absent and Provisional forms and ballot papers.
SELECTION CRITERIA: There are questions listed in the application form that are relevant to this type of employment. Please ensure that you complete these questions to ensure that you can be assessed according to your every day skills and experience. Your application will then be assessed by the Returning Officer who may contact you when vacancies are to be filled.
OTHER CONDITIONS: You will need to be currently enrolled on the Western Australian Electoral roll.
Polling staff are employed on a casual, as needed, basis and employment does not continue from one event to another.
