The Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA) is the State’s premier Art Museum. Situated in the heart of Perth’s Cultural Centre, the Main and Centenary Galleries house the State Art Collection of over 18,600 works by renowned local and international artists from the 1800’s to today, including approximately 3,000 Aboriginal works. In 2020, the Gallery celebrated 125 years of operation.

Location
This position is located in central Perth within the Cultural Centre hub close to the bustling café, tourist and shopping districts.
About the position
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to attract, grow and maintain philanthropic support for The Art Gallery of Western Australia. The role is important in establishing and cultivating relationships with a range of stakeholders, including current and potential donors and funders. This will require researching, identifying, implementing and evaluating fundraising strategies and initiatives, working collaboratively with the AGWA Director, Foundation Manager and curatorial staff.
This role forms part of the AGWA Development Team. AGWA is looking for someone who has demonstrated experience within fundraising and managing a pool of philanthropic patrons, with the ability to undertake research, manage projects and prepare proposals, grant submissions and acquittals.
Conditions
This is a full time, fixed term vacancy, for a period of 12 months, with a possibility of extension and/or permanency.
A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants for this position may be considered for ‘similar’ vacancies within the Culture and Arts Portfolio and/or the wider public sector which arise within a reasonable period of time. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Future vacancies may be considered - and fixed term, part time and full time.

- Demonstrated research skills with the ability to identify and engage with potential supporters and/or funders.
