Working in Broome Broome is located in the Kimberley and is a coastal town 2,240kms north of Perth, located on the traditional lands of the Yawuru people. It is accessible via the Great Northern Highway, North West Coastal Highway or by air from most capital cities in Australia. Broome is a relatively ‘young’ town, with the average age of residents being in the 30s. Its population of 15,000 people is multicultural, and almost half of the community is Aboriginal. The Broome office employs more than 50 people, with a mix of both locals and staff who have moved to the area, all with different backgrounds, cultural ties and life skills that they can draw on.
