About Us:
We lead and advise on key development projects across the state. Our key focus areas are:
- State (Crown) land administration and asset management
- Aboriginal heritage
- Cultural heritage conservation services
- Integrated land and infrastructure policy development

The vast scope of our work ranges from managing much-loved State assets such as Fremantle Prison and Whiteman Park, to overseeing the Aboriginal Lands Trust and Crown land estates, to working closely with other state government departments on strategic government projects such as MetroNet.
The Opportunity;
We are seeking to establish a pool of enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals for the role of Senior Field Management Officer. The Senior Field Management Officer coordinates and implements comprehensive land management programs on behalf of the Western Australian Planning Commission’s estate to ensure compliance with relevant legislative and policy requirements.
The role involves ensuring that the land is appropriately maintained to meet relevant fire code, using a range of contractors to undertake fire breaks, slashing, weed management and fencing programs; undertake planning for rehabilitation of select parcels of land which have been acquired because of their environmental significance; and the landscaping of land that has been acquired for regional parklands.
Strong knowledge of contemporary land care management of urban bushland, ability to manage contractors and strong communication skills will be highly regarded, as will your ability to provide reports on progress of works, as well as administer and provide input to an annual budget of works.
This is a recruitment pool to fill permanent, fixed term, full-time or part-time vacancies. Suitable applicants may be considered for appointment for a period of twelve (12) months.
To be successful in this role, you need to demonstrate;
- Sound experience managing natural and highly modified land resources, with experience in planning, coordinating and implementing land management programs.
- Well-developed computer skills, with the ability to:
- use and apply a Geographical Information System and other database applications
- manage, maintain and extract information from databases
- The ability to establish and maintains effective relationships with a network of internal and external contacts to establish mutual goals and ensure objectives are met.
- The knowledge and understanding to effectively maintain records for land management programs and prepare budget estimates based on operational requirements.
