The School Of Special Education Needs: Disability (SSEN:D) is seeking two (2) passionate Teachers to join their friendly Online Education Services team.
We currently have the following positions available
- 2x - permanent full-time positions
Both positions will commence Term 3, 2020.
The successful applicants will use their knowledge and understanding of teaching and learning practices to assist the needs of students with disabilities, including ICT and the development of online resources and professional learning to support the delivery of integrated services for these students effectively.
The successful applicants will work collaboratively in a team environment and with a variety of stakeholders; building and maintaining positive partnerships with a wide range of people within the education community.
Applicants with research skills and the ability to identify and analyse trends through data collection and interpretation will be highly regarded.
SSEN:D operates within a federation of four schools including the School of Special Educational Needs: Medical and Mental Health, the School of Special Educational Needs: Sensory and the School of Special Educational Needs: Behaviour and Engagement to coordinate support for schools where possible and to share resources and expertise. These positions require extensive knowledge, skills and experience in ICT, online learning and web based management to provide guidance and support SSEN Consulting Teachers in the field of online learning, website management and adapting material for the online environment.
SSEN:D provides statewide support to schools to support students with disability and learning disabilities; provides contextualised and evidence based professional learning courses and provides seminars to support schools and online research, information and resources. SSEN:D is committed to building the capacity of teachers and school based staff to deliver effective classroom programs that value the diversity of students in inclusive learning environments.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
