Caversham Valley Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Primary School Teacher to join their friendly team. The role will predominantly be as a teacher of Year 1 – 6 Physical Education and Health with the possibility of a component of Science.
As the successful applicant, you will support the development and implementation of the school’s culture, vision, values and future directions. As a foundation staff member you will implement school-wide practices to meet the needs of students and ensure the creation of an environment that promotes success.
It is advantageous that applicants will be conversant with the Western Australian Physical Education, Health and Science curriculum and have a proven ability to teach across Years 1 to 6. Forming strong links with community groups and sporting associations is integral to this role. You will have effective interpersonal skills and be able to establish good working relationships with students, parents, peers and the wider community to achieve the best educational outcomes for our students.
You will work collaboratively with school leadership, other staff and the wider community to develop our new school and your willingness to take on additional roles beyond the classroom and a commitment to weekly meetings will be valued.
As a teacher you will contribute to a positive learning environment and high quality teaching through continuous professional learning, self-reflection, engaging with current research, data analysis, coaching and peer observation and feedback. Health and well-being, social responsibility, and minimal environmental impact are features of our school.
Caversham Valley PS opened in 2020 to 345 students in Kindergarten to Year 6. Located on Summerville Boulevard, we have purpose built classrooms to cater for 430 students in the growing Caversham area, and generous space for future temporary classrooms. Caversham Valley PS is located 15km from the centre of Perth in the rapidly growing suburb of Caversham, close to the Swan Valley. Surrounded by rapidly developing housing estates with many young families, our community includes families of many different backgrounds and cultures, many from overseas where English is not the first language or dialect spoken at home.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
