About Us:
We lead and advise on key development projects across the state. Our key focus areas are:

The vast scope of our work ranges from managing much-loved State assets such as Fremantle Prison and Whiteman Park, to overseeing the Aboriginal Lands Trust and Crown land estates, to working closely with other state government departments on strategic government projects such as MetroNet.
The Opportunity;
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual for a Senior Museum Officer role to join the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage within our Heritage and Property Services Division located at Whiteman Park.
The successful candidate will have extensive museum based experience and will be responsible for leading an enthusiastic and multi-disciplinary team, manage the day to day financial, human and physical resources, oversee all activities and services undertaken in the operation of Revolutions Transport Museum at Whiteman Park, and ensure a high standard of delivery and team cohesion. You will also ensure that the Whiteman Collection and artefacts on loan receive appropriate care according to recognised standards of museum practice.
This is a permanent full-time position. Suitable applicants may be considered for appointment to similar (permanent, fixed term, full-time or part-time) vacancies for a period of twelve (12) months.
Applicants are advised that this position will be required to work weekends and public holidays.
To be successful in this role, you need to demonstrate:
- Experience and understanding of museum practices with respect to collection care and the interpretation of exhibits.
- Ability to lead and coordinate a small team, ensuring a high standard of customer service is consistently delivered to a wide variety of customers/stakeholders
- Experience in developing and delivering high quality events and experiences in the context of Museum collections, including engaging education programs, to a variety of target audiences
