The Department of Communities brings together the services and functions of disability services, child protection and family support, housing, community initiatives and regional services reform.
The Department of Communities will relocate its head office to the new purpose-built Kings Square, Fremantle, that is set to accommodate 1500 State Government employees. This move is currently scheduled for April 2020.
The Opportunity
As a Principal Review Co-ordinator, you will:
- Provide advice to senior management on the provision of best practice and continuous improvement strategies as they relate to professional practice.
- Manage the establishment of consultative groups across all Districts and Business Units to undertake complex case reviews following a child death or family and domestic violence fatality. Identify practice and emerging issues as outcomes from child death and family and domestic violence fatality review and make recommendations for action as required.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of practice improvements relevant to departmental Practice.
- Manage complex projects and achieves desired outcomes.
- Develop and maintains linkages with internal and key external stakeholders.
- Prepare reports and supports Department staff in preparation for Coronial Inquests.
- Prepare responses to Ombudsman formal child death case reviews.

There is currently 1 fixed term position available for immediate filling for a period of 6 months (with possibility of extensions and/or permanency).
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to appoint to this advertised vacancy, it may also be used to appoint to similar positions that may arise in the Agency within the next 6 months.
