You will have a chance to make a real difference to your local communities and to the lives of those you work with.
About the role
The Parliamentary Counsel’s Office (PCO) provides comprehensive legislative drafting and related services to the Western Australian Government, its departments and agencies to ensure that legislation is prepared to give effect to government policy and priorities. PCO also provides legislative drafting services and advice to private members of Parliament and parliamentary committees.
Legislative drafting is a specialist type of legal work. It offers an intellectually challenging career requiring an ability to understand complex ideas and policies and express them in legislation that is legally effective and drafted as clearly and simply as possible.
PCO is seeking to fill a small number of vacancies at a senior level at which considerable previous legislative drafting experience is essential.
