About the role
The Ern Halliday Recreation Camp is seeking a School Based Trainee, for a period of 18 months. This traineeship is for students who are currently studying Year 10 and will commence in February 2020 as part of the VET program for Year 11s and 12s.
The traineeship program in Outdoor Recreation will provide the successful applicant an opportunity to earn money while learning the ‘ins and outs’ of the Ern Halliday Recreation Camp. The camp has a state-of-the-art roping facility that accommodates activities such as: Rock Climbing, High Ropes and the Flying Fox. We also run water and land-based activities which include Raft Building, Surf Life Saving, Paddling and Team Building activities. Throughout the traineeship you will have the opportunity to receive on-the-job training in a nationally accredited course. On completion of your traineeship you will achieve a Certificate ll in Outdoor Recreation which may present with the ability to continue your study at a higher level or possibly join our Instructor pool.

Conditions
A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment. This role also requires a valid Working with Children Check which will be required prior to commencement of employment.
For temporary (fixed term or casual) positions, you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period of the contract.
Location
This role is based at Ern Halliday Recreation Camp, Whitfords Avenue, Hillarys.
