This is a Permanent Part Time appointment at 45.6 hours per fortnight.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
Position Profile: We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Credentialed Diabetes Educator to assist with the implementation of our new program for children and adolescents diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of the complex issues of new diagnosis management and safe early discharge for continued education in the outpatient setting. This is an exciting new specialist role which will work closely with the multidisciplinary Newly Diagnosed Clinical Team. Areas of accountability will include the provision of leadership, clinical standard setting and monitoring, policy development and change management.
The Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) aims to ensure that the children and young people of Western Australia get the best start in life through health promotion; early intervention; and patient centred, family-focused care.
CAHS employs over 4000 people and provides services throughout the community within metropolitan Perth; operating the State’s only dedicated Tertiary Paediatric Hospital (Perth Children’s Hospital); providing specialised state wide services; as well as providing support to other hospitals and health services across Western Australia.
