COMBAT SPORTS COMMISSION
Chairperson
The Minster for Sport and Recreation, Hon Mick Murray MLA, is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to be appointed as the Chairperson, Combat Sports Commission.
The Combat Sports Commission is an independent statutory body with a vision to create a safer and healthier combat sports community in Western Australia. It assists the Minister in administering the Act through overseeing all contests and providing guidance and leadership to members of the industry from contestants through to promoters, trainers and officials.
The Commission is hosted in the offices of the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries which provides executive services, administration and financial management, communications and advocacy and learning and development services.
As board chair you will be required to lead the Commission, ensure the Commission operates effectively with strong governance and maintain a strategic focus, set industry standards and monitor compliance and overall performance as well as develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships. As Chair you must ensure Commission members, the Minister, Stakeholders and the community have confidence in your leadership and in the functions of the Commission.

The Chairperson is appointed by the Minister for Sport for a term between one and three years at the Minister’s discretion. The Chairperson is renumerated $18,303 per annum.
