Position Profile
We currently have one (1) fixed term part time (0.5 FTE) appointment available up to 31 December 2020 with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.
This process may be used to fill other similar vacancies throughout the department. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, the panel may select another suitable applicant from this selection process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of six (6) months from approval of the initial recruitment decision.
We are looking for a Technical Officer to join the Aquaculture Research and Development branch. The position will provide technical support in the program with immediate general direction under the Aquaculture Facilities coordinator. The position will undertake marine fish duties at the Geraldton Facility. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to:
- Carry out components of a research project.
- Liaises with industry operators and reports on activities.
- Assist with preparation of project presentation and internal reports.

Eligibility / Other Conditions
Certificate in a relevant discipline with some experience or a considerable level of relevant experience.
A current and valid Western Australian C class driver’s license or equivalent is required (if no currently held must be acquired prior to commencement at applicant’s expense).
This position is located in Geraldton.
